Gubernatorial candidate of Accord in Oyo State, Adebayo Adelabu has urged Governor Seyi Makinde not to disappoint the people of the state during his second term in office.

Adelabu made this disclosure on Sunday via a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists.

He made this assertion while congratulating Makinde over his second term victory.

Track news recalls that Makinde had on Sunday been declared the winner of the gubernatorial election held on Saturday.

Makinde defeated Adelabu of Accord, Teslim Folarin and other candidates who contested the election.

The Returning Officer in the state, Professor Adebayo Bamire announced that Makinde scored a total of 563,756 votes to defeat all other candidates.

Bamire is the Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife in Osun state.

The Vice Chancellor announced that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin, scored 256,685 votes.

The Accord candidate, Adebayo Adelabu scored a total of 38,357 votes according to the result of the election.

Adelabu while reacting said the victory of Makinde who has been re-elected for another term was a call to do more and serve the people diligently.

The Accord candidate in the statement made available to Track news on Sunday insisted that election has come and gone.

He advised the governor to focus on the poor state of security in the state during his second term.

He maintained that it is important for the governor to ensure that schools should be made more conducive for learning while teachers should be encouraged and trained to do more in order to ensure that the state regains its status as a pace setter state.

“The Governor should especially focus on the poor state of security in the State, equally important is the state of the environment which needs urgent attention.”
