Nigeria System Is So Corrupt: We Won’t Contest Election Again Unless We Have 10bn, Ogboru Speaks

According to our reports the All Progressives Grand Alliance’s APGA gubernatorial candidate in Delta state, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, has expressed dismay at Nigeria’s election campaign, saying the process is getting worse every year.

Ogboru stated that one of his children once told him not to contest the election until he had N10 billion.

Recall that before the 2023 election, the APGA was the face of the opposition in the state.

In 2007, 2010, and 2011 elections, when he ran for the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP), he fought a strong fight against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In these elections, he produced some members of the State House of Assembly.

Speaking of the 2023 gubernatorial election, Ogboru said: After the election was completed, we had to congratulate the winner of this election, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.

Having said that, I would like to say that the election campaign in Nigeria is getting worse every year and it shouldn’t be that way.

From what we’ve seen, it’s safe to say that no one can win an election again without a very deep pocket.

In fact, after that election, one of my kids texted me and said, Dad, we won’t contest the election again unless we have N10 billion.

If I have to extrapolate, I would say that today’s youth has imprisoned themselves, We find it a bit worrying and unthinkable that people can willingly sell their birthright by selling their votes.

In doing so, they commit themselves to modern slavery and therefore have no voice to question the actions of the government.

This is pathetic, sad, and unacceptable, the future must be directed against it. Regarding suggestions that Ogboru was given money and bought by the PDP ahead of the elections, he said: I’ve heard some of these stupid speeches from some quarters and we know these are sponsored speeches by our friends in the APC who are only specialize in slander and destroying people’s character because they believe that the only way to rise in politics is to bring someone down.

That’s the hallmark of APC in Delta State.

If you know my background, you should know by now that certain people are above bribery, inducements, and money, and I am very confident and proud to say that I am one of the few people who have money that can not be brought about under any circumstances.

If anyone made that suggestion, they are wrong.

What happened was that the PDP came to us before the elections that I should resign for their candidate and support him and I said no it should be the other way around, your candidate should resign and support me and that went on for a couple of weeks so.

Then after a couple of weeks, they said we should meet with the governor of our state.

We met and tried to persuade the governor that his party’s candidate should stand down for us and they said no I said I’m not going to stand down for him either; We have to race.

Nevertheless, at that meeting, we agreed that one of us should win this election and that if the Sheriff won, the Great Ogboru won, and if the Great Ogboru won, the Sheriff won.
