Nine PDP women support groups dump party for APC in Zamfara

No fewer than nine prominent female groups of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Zamfara State have declared their support for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

The women thronged the Government House in their large numbers.

The group leaders gave reasons for their decision, citing high-handedness, indecision and lack of focus as characterizing their former political home.

They lamented the long time it took them to join the APC which they remarked has been conducting its affairs with maturity, respect to the rule of law and humanity.

While appreciating how the APC has always ensured discipline at all times and levels, the new entrants said disappointingly, the PDP was fond of causing crisis within and outside the party, noting that a party that wants to lead people should not be seen to be causing or having inherent crisis.

The leaders unanimously vowed to work assiduously in mobilizing more support for the APC.

Welcoming the ecampees, chairman of the decampees reception committee, Senator Tijjani Yahaya Kaura said the APC had always maintained open arms to all entrants, explaining that such is the essence of politics.

He assured them that they will receive equal treatment with all members of the party.

Also in his remarks, the Secretary of the committee, Prof. Abdullahi Muhammad Shinkafi commended the vision of the women groups in adding to the number of the party.

The nine women groups include Dauda Lawal Dare Women Support Groups under the leadership of Malama Aisha Aliyu, PDP Women Awareness Forum, led by Hajiya Jamila Isah, PDP Bamuci Bamufita under the leadership of Hajiya Rukkaya Abdullahi.

Others include Kungiyar Mata Kaifi Daya Rijiyar Gabas, led by Malama Hafsat Shehu and Kungiyar Baiwa Sai Allah Tashar Rawayya in support of Gamjin Gusau under the leadership of Malama Amina Ibrahim, Operation show your PVC Association, led by Hajiya Fatima Muhammad, Mata Masoya Dauda, led by Hajiya Suwaiba Yandorayi and the State PDP Women Youth Leader, Hajiya Uwani Maishanu
