Nnamdi Kanu: There’s One Funny Senator Who Should Be In Jail – Presidency

The special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, Femi Adesina has suggested that Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe should be in prison.

According to the presidential media aide, Abaribe who is the Senate Minority Leader is guilty of supporting and associating with Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Adesina made the claim on Thursday night via an article titled ‘weighty matters about our country‘ which he released on his Facebook page.

Though Adesina failed to specifically mention Abaribe’s name in his article, he made glaring references pointing to the fact that he was referring to the Abia Senator.

Mr. Adesina accused the lawmaker of inciting violence through his words and action, thereby further fanning the flame of insecurity in Nigeria.

Abaribe was further accused of constantly using foul language against the leaders of the country and standing surety for Nnamdi Kanu before the court.

For these and other ‘sins’, Adesina said Abaribe “should have been cooling his feet in the prison.”

He wrote: “Some people incite violence through words or actions, thus exacerbating the security challenges we have. You wonder where they are from, and why they would further stoke a burning fire with incendiary materials.

“There is one funny Senator who talks about the mismanagement of our diversity as a country, yet he daily uses foul language against those in leadership. He stood surety for someone bent on dismemberment of the country, and when that one vanished, and he should have been cooling his feet in prison, the Senator still spews rubbish. Chief ‘mismanager’ of our diversity. And the President had words for him and his ilk, who exist round the country.

“We are ready to arrest and prosecute all persons inciting violence through words or action. Our resolve for a peaceful, united and one Nigeria remains resolute and unwavering…

“The seeds of violence are planted in people’s heads through words. Reckless utterances of a few have led to losses of many innocent lives and destruction of properties.”

Meanwhile, Senator Abaribe has stated that he does regret standing surety for the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

IPOB: Abaribe Vows To Stand Surety For Kanu Again

Nnamdi Kanu and Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.

Naija News recall that Abaribe and two other individuals had in 2017 stood surety for Nnamdi Kanu before he was granted bail.

The IPOB leader later jumped bail after security operatives attacked him home in Abuja State.

Kanu, who was rearrested in Kenya, is currently facing charges bordering on terrorism, treason, incitement, and many others.

Speaking on Channels Television on Tuesday, Senator Abaribe (PDP-Abia South) called on the federal government to embrace dialogue and address the root causes of agitations, stressing that silencing agitators would not wipe out the ideology.

While insisting that he will always stand with his people, the former deputy governor blamed the media for tagging every activity in the southeast to IPOB.
