Rivers United manager Stanley Eguma has revealed that his team’s victory against Bendel Insurance was planned.

The Pride of Rivers defeated Bendel Insurance 2-1 to end the Benin Arsenals’ 21-game unbeaten run.

Maurice Chukwu and Joseph Onoja scored for the Nigeria Premier League champions, while Divine Nwachukwu scored for Bendel Insurance.

Eguma commended his players for their tactical discipline throughout the encounter.

“Our victory against Bendel Insurance was a well-orchestrated plan,” he told newsmen at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

“My players gave a good account of themselves throughout the encounter. They followed what we instructed them to do, and that contributed to the positive result,” he said.
