Numerous Boko Haram/Islamic State of West Africa (ISWAP) terrorists were killed over the weekend by the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation Hadin Kai during airstrikes on their hideouts in Borno, to the northeast of Bama.
This occurred soon after a hamlet in Niger State’s Lapai Local Government Area was attacked, resulting in the kidnapping of three people and the burning of two tankers.
According to sources, intelligence discovered during the raid of the ISWAP and Boko Haram hideouts showed that the terrorists from the two factions were engaged in a battle for supremacy at Gazuwa, one of the notorious bases of Boko Haram, located eight kilometers from Bama Local Government Area, last Friday when the military launched an air and ground assault that resulted in the neutralization of many of them.
They were engaged in a struggle when the Super Tukano attacked them, dealing them a crushing blow that resulted in the deaths of numerous Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists.
He said that in keeping with the use of air power to destroy insurgent capabilities, airstrikes successfully eliminated another group of terrorists near the Gargash axis, killing an undefined number of Mujahedeen in the process.
Zagazola Makama, a security analyst and counterterrorism expert in Lake Chad, acknowledged that the air interdiction mission was carried out following a series of surveillance missions that showed a significant presence of militants in the region.

In the meantime, out of concern for being targeted by military air attacks, more than 20 terrorists and their families from the Njimiya camp of terrorists have turned themselves in to the soldiers of 21 Armoured Brigade Bama.
According to one of the terrorists who turned themselves in (name withheld), the ongoing attacks have caused widespread displacement and hunger in most of their terrorist camps, leaving them with no choice but to either surrender, remain in hiding without food, or flee the forest or perish.
“The attacks started in Garin Asma’u, and then we learned that Gazuwa was also targeted,” he stated. We learned that some of our colleagues had been killed at Gargash on the same day. Because of this, we believed that our camp would be the next location to be hit.
Terrorists kidnap three people and torch two tankers in a Niger town.
In the meantime, terrorists once more attacked a Saminaka community in Niger State’s Lapai Local Government Area on Sunday. During the attack, three people were kidnapped, and two tankers were set ablaze.
According to , Track News when the terrorists first entered the neighborhood, they began shooting as they made their way to one of the local eateries, where they kidnapped three ladies.
Zainab Usman, the restaurant’s owner, and two of her employees are among the three abducted women; their names have not yet been released.
According to Track News, two diesel tankers carrying fuel were hit by some of the terrorists’ bullets, causing explosions.
The insider claimed that after the attack and kidnapping, the neighborhood was in a state of terror.
The Niger State Police Command was contacted, and they confirmed the community attack and the kidnapping of three women.
The state police public relations officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, stated that attempts are still being made to free the kidnapped victims.
