Sebore International Farms, the agricultural venture of former Adamawa Governor Murtala Nyako, has opened a new dairy factory.

The factory is said to be Nigeria’s largest, producing a variety of Admiral’A Youghurt varieties primarily from independent cattle breeders’ milk.

Nyako thanked God for allowing him to witness the dairy factory 40 years after founding Sebore Farms in Mayo-Belwa, an agrarian community south of Yola.

“I am grateful to have been present at the birth of a new generation that will lead Sebore to greater heights at the end of my life.” “I thank my son Aminu Nyako for having the vision to develop the Sebore Export Processing Zone through his diary project,” Nyako said.

While Nyako founded Sebore Farms in his hometown of Mayo-Belwa in 1982, one of his sons, Aminu, created the Admiral’A Youghurt Factory, which opened this weekend within the 15,000-acre farm complex.

According to Aminu, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sebore International Farms, the establishment of the diary firm marked the beginning of a dream to contribute meaningfully to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) desire to end importation of diary products.

The yoghurt production initiative, according to Aminu, marks a new turning point in the life of Sebore Farms, which previously exported Admiral’A mangos to Europe and the Middle East.

“Three years ago, we conducted a survey and discovered that Adamwa has 2.1 million cattle,” Aminu said of the newly opened dairy factory. That’s a lot of opportunity. To realize this enormous potential, power and processing were required.

“To fill this void, the Central Bank provided us with access to facilities via our bank, Providus Bank, resulting in what you see today.”

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s Governor, Godwin Emefiele, confirmed the central bank’s support for the project, which aims to reduce dairy imports.
