Obaseki reacts to alleged plot to remove Oshiomhole

– Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki, has reacted to reports of an alleged plot by governors to remove Adams Oshiomhole as APC national chairman

– According to Obaseki, there are a lot of processes to impeach the party’s chairman and the governors are yet to explore these processes

– On the impeachment of the state’s deputy speaker, the governor said it is purely a domestic affair

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state, on Wednesday, October 23, said he is unaware of the alleged plan by some governors to remove Adams Oshiomhole as the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Obaseki, who spoke after the launching of Afrinvest Nigerian Banking Sector Report 2018, in Abuja, said the governors are yet to explore the necessary processes required to remove a party chairman.

He said: “I am not aware that they want to remove him. There are processes to remove a party chairman. The governors have not exhausted those processes.”

On the impeachment of the state’s deputy speaker, The Sun reports that Obaseki said: “The legislature is an independent arm of government. They have their own logic. It is an issue we are intervening to make sure it is resolved.

“This is purely a domestic affair. The state party will find out what the issues are.”

TRACKNEWS.NG earlier reported that Mohammed Umar Jibrilla Bindow, the governor of Adamawa state, debunked the rumour that he was a part of a group plotting to remove the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole.

The governor, who spoke through his special assistant on media and publicity, Macauley Hunohashi, said he just won a primary election described as free, fair and credible has remained focused in his determination to provide the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
