Chimaroke Nnamani, former governor of Enugu State and senator representing Enugu East senatorial district, got into an argument with a social media user over the Obidient movement.
According to Track News, the senator has increased his social media engagement by participating in tweet chats with young people.
After being called out by some users, the senator, who is running for re-election to the National Assembly, previously stated that he would no longer block Twitter users who insulted him.
On Saturday, the politician spoke about the Obidient movement.
He stated: “Still on the subject of Obedient, there is no such thing as an obedient party; the name is Labour Party, a political party with candidates for all offices, including governorship. Our party, the Peoples Democratic Party, is distinct. If we blur the distinction and vote Obedient, that is, the Labour Party, for President for the minority elites, we can easily reverse our decision two weeks later.”
“We are Ebeano, our political party is not the Labour Party, we are the PDP, and our symbol is an umbrella,” he had also tweeted.
In response to Nnamani, a Twitter user known as @McCa Xn wrote, “Ewu,” which means “goat” in Igbo.
The senator, on the other hand, replied to the user, “Your father and mother Ewu.”
