The National Executive Council and leadership of the Ogbia Brotherhood Youth Council (OBYC) Worldwide, the apex socio-cultural youth organization in Ogbia Kingdom, has felicitated with the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, on the occasion of his 50th birthday.

In a statement signed by the OBYC National President, Comr. Mipuru Joe Akaragha, the youths described Dr. Ogbuku—who is also the Deputy Paramount Ruler of Ayakoro Community and the Edi (1) of Anyama Clan—as a father, leader, and compatriot whose life has been dedicated to service, transformation, and empowerment.

The statement extolled the NDDC boss as “an encyclopedia of development ideas, a beacon of hope, and a shining light whose leadership has brought empowerment, progress, and sustainable development to the Niger Delta.”

OBYC noted that Dr. Ogbuku’s tenure as Managing Director of NDDC has ushered in what they termed a “Golden Reign of Empowerment and Sustainable Development.” They acknowledged his outstanding contributions from his days as a student and youth leader, through his service as Chief of Staff to the Bayelsa State Government, to his current position as head of the Niger Delta’s foremost interventionist agency.

According to the Council, Dr. Ogbuku has remained committed to:

Human capital development,

Youth empowerment,

Critical infrastructure projects,

Peace and security,

Educational advancement,

Operation Light Up the Niger Delta,

Stakeholders’ engagement, and

Project HOPE for a renewed region.

“Ogbia youths are immensely proud of your exploits and deliberate efforts towards the growth and sustainable development of the Ogbia Kingdom, Bayelsa State, the Niger Delta, and Nigeria at large,” the statement read.

Praying for long life, wisdom, and good health for the celebrant, OBYC described the 50th birthday as “a golden milestone for a leader whose legacy of excellence will continue to inspire generations to come.”

The Council concluded with resounding solidarity:

“Long live Chief Dr. Samuel Ogbuku! Long live Ogbia Kingdom! Long live Bayelsa State! Long live the Niger Delta Region! Long live President Bola Ahmed Tinubu! Long live Nigeria! Alua!”
