Ogunsua Modakeke to receive instrument of office, November 3

The coronation and presentation of the staff of the office to the new Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Joseph Olubiyi Toriola, Ajibise Ogo I, has been fixed for November 3, 2022.

A statement signed by Adedayo Ojo on behalf of the Ogunsua Palace Media Committee said the ceremony would take place at the Modakeke civic centre.

The statement read, “The landmark royal coronation event will be performed by His Excellency, the Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola supported by members of the Osun State Executive Council.”

According to the statement, the Royal Father of the Day and Chief Host of the coronation event, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, would lead other royal fathers and traditional rulers from across the country to the historic event.

Oba Toriola who would be crowned as the 20th Ogunsua had been in line for the throne for 43 years.

Reacting to the news, Oba Toriola expressed gratitude to God Almighty for His grace upon him, his family and the entire Modakeke community.

Oba Toriola succeeds Oba Moses Oladejo Oyediran of the Ajombadi family who joined his ancestors in March, 2022

Oba Oyediran was 92 years of age at his passing and he was on the throne for four years
