The National leader of Otita Transformation Movement, better known as Otita Force Worldwide, Prince Gabriel Jonah, has expressed his heartfelt commendation to the governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency Sen. Douye Diri, for acquiring 60MW gas turbine to provide 24 hours sustainable and uninterrupted independed power for the state.
The Otita 1 and Prince of Kpongbokiri, who hailed the governor’s foresight in a statement released by his media assistant, Tari Agai, said this will not only attract investors and create jobs for the teaming youths, but also boost small and medium-scale businesses, and be a revenue spinner for the state, noting that Governor Diri, is progressively actualizing the dreams of the late Chief Melford Okilo, who pioneered efforts to improve power supply with gas turbine.
He maintained that the Governor’s strategic approach to developing Bayelsa State, focuses on high-impact projects that drive visible growth.
While highlighting that initiatives like the uninterrupted power supply, the technical schools, senatorial roads, the new Yenagoa city project, stadium, the iconic 9-story Civil Servants Secretariat complex, Bayelsa Airlines, the proposed Water project, and other signature projects of the governor, will make Bayelsa become a prime destination for investors and tourists when completed and begin to synchronise, Gabriel Jonah, said the Bayelsa of their dreams is fast becoming a reality under Governor Diri.
The Otita 1 and Prince of Kpongbokiri, who also commended the Governor for paying the over a decade-long gratuity arrears to pensioners, many of whom had been driven to depression while waiting for their entitlements, said Diri is a governor who truly feels the pulse of his people.
He therefore advised youths of the state to stay away from crime and focus on acquiring skills, noting that Governor Diri’s efforts aim to create an environment where only those who are hardworking and industrous will enjoy, as ‘there is no food for the lazy man”.
