OTITA 1 CONDEMNS THE PHRASE “Nembe Is a Community Without Champions”
**$Says It Is Spiritually Limiting And Detrimental To The Progress Of The Community.
The common phrase, “Nembe Olotu Fa Ama” which mean, Nembe Is A Community Without Champions” is a negative and distructive mindset, that is spiritually limiting and detrimental to the progress and development of the community.
Leader of the Otita Transformation Movement, Prince Gabriel Jonah, handed this down in Nembe City, at the memorial celebration of their grand parents, as he extols his elder brother, His Excellency, Retired Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah, for the leadership role he is playing in the Jonah’s family.
The Otita 1, who said a champion is an achiever, a defender, supporter and a winner who has gone out to win for his people, wondered who will champion the course of the community and bear certain burdens if there are no champions.
He said, the reason, the Jonah Family is in a stronger bond of unity, is because there is a champion who strongly defended, supported, inspired, and guided them to achieve for the family, and these same roles, Gboribiogha Jonah, has evidently played for the Nembe people, adding that his father who also played that leadership role in their family, handed over the leadership batton to the former Deputy Governor.
He however advised the people of Nembe City, to identify emerging champions in every field of endeavour and give them the support they need to favourably compete with their counterparts anywhere in the world, rather than labeling the community as a community without champions, a statement that is capable of limiting the potentials of our talented and promising youths, whom he saw as champions in their various careers.
The Otita 1, who use the opportunity to advise the youths of Nembe City, to put on that champion mentality as they struggle in their various field, said as far as he knows, Nembe City is the home of Champions and his vision and mission for the year 2025, is to promote and project these champions amongst them.
He admonished the people of Nembe City, to continue in peace, unity and friendship, saying his service to the people is not limited to Otitans, but every Nembe man who is willing to partner with him in his drive to unite and reinvent the Nembe Kingdom.
High points of the occasion were the dignified unveiling of the newly designed tomb of their Father, Mother and Grand Mother, and laying of wreaths.
