~ reaffirms more commitments, lauds Gov. Diri, others
The Bayelsa Health Commissioner, Prof. Seiyefa Brisibe led the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Ebiye Sawyer, DPRS, Mrs. Beatrice Olomiete, other Directors in the Ministry of Health and the Bayelsa States’ House of Assembly Committee on Health to visit ongoing constructions by the Ministry across the State yesterday.
The House of Assembly Committee on Health led by, Hon. (Dr.) Godbless Oyinke, commended the Commissioner, Minister and the State Government for what they have done so far in the development of the state’s health sector.

Prof. Brisibe reaffirmed more commitments, thanked, the Chairman House Committee on Health and all other members to have found time out of their busy schedule to come and see the work that is being done and how the money that they appropriated is being spent.
The Commissioner, applauded once again the Governor, Sen. Douye Diri and his deputy for placing enormous priority on health care development since assumption of office. Further, on behalf of the entire ministry throws more support of the prosperity administration.
The Health Commissioner highlighted the need for the visit, stating that, the oversight visit was important because the effort has given them(House Committee) firsthand exposure to what the ministry is doing with the appropriated funds and also to provide advice because there is no one man that knows it all.

“And of course, to see that the agenda, the robust healthcare agenda in the prosperity assured matrix is achieved, and we will continue to do that, I have asked the committee having this opportunity, let them push more for us in the health sector because a lot more needs to be done” he stated.
The places visited were the Bayelsa Medical University, Sampou Campus, newly renovated Aisha Buhari Mother and Child Hospital Azikoro, newly renovated Malia Sasime Medical Center Igbogene-Epie and other areas at Agbere-Odoni in Sagbama local government.
Dr. Godbless Oyinke, the Chairman House Committee on Health, further encouraged other members for more support and the Executive to see how they can improve the funding so that more massive projects will come to the communities.
“Investments in health are important and we’ll continue to appeal to the people to understand that these investments in health need to be improved” he added
