Oyo State Police command has confirmed the killing of an Ibadan socialite, Mr. Teslim Akinpelu by suspected armed robbers.
Police confirmed that the deceased, also known as Gatuso, was killed by four armed robbers on Saturday.
TrackNews Online recalls that Akinpelu was Saturday evening shot by armed robbers in a hotel around Iyaganku area of Ibadan.
Akinpelu, TrackNews Online gathered, died as a result of the gunshot he sustained.
The Public Relations Officer of the States Police command, Mr. Olugbenga Fadeyi, in his reaction, confirmed the killing of the socialite.
Fadeyi in a statement made available to TrackNews Online on Monday, added that DPO of Iyaganku had commenced investigation into the matter.
He said that the armed robbers pretended to be lodgers before carrying out their evil intention.
Fadeyi said, “Teslim Akinpelu, aka Gatuso was shot dead by 4 armed men at Town hotel NTC Iyaganku at about 0045 hrs.
“They pretended to be lodgers before carying out their evil intention.
“Investigation has commenced into the matter by DPO Iyaganku.”
