TRACKING_____A 36-year-old pastor, Temidayo Afolabi, of Cherubim and Seraphim Church, has been arrested for allegedly defiling a minor in his church at Ipaja area of Lagos State.
It was learnt that the pastor was caught red-handed in the act in his office by the victim’s elder sister.
The sister reported the incident to their mother who later informed the police.
Afolabi was said to have slept with the girl on several occasions and warned her not to inform anybody about what transpired between them.
The suspect, who was arrested by policemen from Ipaja Division, was transferred to the Gender Section where he was currently undergoing interrogation.
Afolabi admitted he had slept with the victim about five times.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bala Elkana, said the pastor invited the victim’s family to come and live with him on the church premises after she lost her father.
“He decided to use his office to perpetrate the bad act to avoid getting caught by his wife. Unfortunately, it was the victim’s sister who caught them in the act and reported him to their mother,” Elkana said.
The PPRO said Afolabi would be charged to court after investigation had been concluded.
