Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, has stated that he does not see the ‘obedient movement’ as a political movement.
According to Track News, the ‘obidient movement’ is a group of Nigerians who support the presidential ambitions of Labour Party (LP) candidate Peter Obi.

However, when asked if he sees the movement as a threat to the PDP’s political fortunes in 2023, Iduoriyekemwen responded in the negative.

He stated that the movement is simply an expression of people’s dissatisfaction with the state of the country.

The former Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly, who is now a senatorial candidate for his party, stated that he does not believe Peter Obi and the Obidient Movement pose a threat to the PDP in its traditional South-South and South-East strongholds.

“I don’t see the Obidient Movement as a political movement,” he said. I believe the movement is an expression of people’s dissatisfaction with the way things are in the country. I can tell you that if a group starts rioting today, people will join without first knowing who is behind it.

“Political agitation differs from mass movements in that you must sell your candidates when campaigning begins.” We are all aware of Nigeria’s problems, so what we need right now are people who can propose solutions. We all know that the prices of goods and services in the country are high, so I am sure people want to know what will be done to bring those prices down.”
