The Zonal Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the South-South Zone, George Turnah, has publicly stated that he is not engaged in any political conflict with anyone, emphasizing that his recent political decisions are personal and should be respected.
In a statement released on Monday, March 31, 2025, Turnah dismissed claims that he is involved in disputes or disagreements. He cautioned against the misuse of his name by individuals seeking political relevance, particularly those engaging in letter-writing campaigns. He made it clear that any such correspondences directed at him, whether private or open, would not receive a response, as he remains focused on more pressing matters.
Turnah also outlined his political alignment, revealing a shift in his support. While he previously backed Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State during the 2019 and 2023 elections, he has now decided to support former Governor of Rivers State, Chief Dr. E. N. Wike, whom he now recognizes as his political leader with immediate effect.
Additionally, Turnah affirmed his support for the Renewed Hope Administration of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. He stated that he aligns with the administration’s efforts to improve the lives of Nigerians while maintaining his loyalty to the PDP as both a committed member and an officer of the party.
Reiterating that his choices are personal, Turnah urged all concerned to respect his decisions. His statement comes amidst political discussions in the region, as party members and stakeholders navigate shifting alliances within the PDP and the broader national political landscape.
