Meanwhile, Tracknews.ng had previously reported that Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Friday, January 25, rejected the suspension of Chief Justice of Nigeria Walter Onnoghen by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The former vice president who disclosed this in a statement made available to Legit.ng said he rejects the suspension in its entirely and called on Onnoghen and the judiciary to resist the action by every legal and constitutional means.

In related development, the Senate president, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately reveres himself on the suspension of chief justice of Nigeria, Justice Onnoghen.

Saraki said the president has sent a wrong signal to the world by unilaterally taking a decision of such magnitude and not following the provision of the constitution.

The Senate president said this in a statement on Friday, January 25. He added that the Nigeria’s constitution makes no provision for the suspension of the nation’s highest judicial officer.
