Ademola Adegoroye, Minister of State for Transportation, has urged Works and Housing Minister Babatunde Fashola to expedite the Akure-Ado Ekiti road reconstruction.
According to his spokesman Ebenezer Adeniyan, Adegoroye made the appeal during a visit to Fashola in Abuja.
The official informed his host that the bad road was causing problems for the people of Ondo and Ekiti states.
Adegoroye stated that the poor state demanded immediate federal action.
The minister informed Fashola that his people would not allow him to rest at home until work on the road resumed.
Adegoroye went on to say that he would continue to see the minister once a week until the project took off.
He praised Fashola for his “hard work, forthrightness, and determination in ensuring the expansion of road infrastructure.”
Fashola explained that the government was unable to begin the project due to a lack of funds.
The ex-Lagos governor promised to do everything in his power to get work started as soon as possible.
