PHARMACISTS DAY: Prof. Brisibe Lauds Pharmacists, Calls For More Efforts On Drug Formulations

‎The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Seiyefa Brisibe has lauded the States’ Pharmacists for their crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficacy, and accessibility of medications and most especially increasing life expectancy.
‎
‎The Health Commissioner made the commendation when he attended the 2025 World Pharmacists day at Emis Event Center on Thursday 25th September 2025, in Yenagoa.
‎
‎Prof. Brisibe appreciated the leadership of the Pharmaceutical society and all Pharmacists in the State, describing them as warriors as they play vital roles in advancing healthcare systems, ensuring safety through their expertise in medication management, patient care, public health, and regulatory compliance.
‎
‎”As accessible healthcare professionals, Pharmacists contribute significantly to the quality, safety, and efficiency of healthcare delivery, he stated.
‎
‎Prof. Brisibe called on Pharmacist to be more unanimous and focus on drug formulations, research, to help check-mate substandard drugs in the country, as it improves access to quality medications, and fosters trust in healthcare systems.
‎
‎”Partnerships between pharmacists, regulatory agencies, government bodies, and research institutions are essential to create an enabling environment for pharmaceutical innovation and equitable health outcomes and as a Ministry we will continue to join hands with the State government in building the health sector.
‎
‎He further thanked the Governor and his Deputy, for their unanimous decisions in developing Bayelsa, the Glory of All Lands.
‎
‎The Health Commissioner, Prof. Brisibe was joined by the acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Jones Stow, and other top Gov’t officials.
