Armed gunmen assassinated a popular lawmaker in Adamawa state.
Hon. Ishaya Bakano, the Deputy Leader of the Song Local Government Legislative Council, was killed in the early hours of Saturday.
Ishaya, who represents Gudu Mboi Ward, was killed when gunmen broke into his Bannga home in the early hours of Saturday.
According to a family member who spoke with our reporter, the gunmen also shot the deceased’s son, who is currently being treated at Song Hospital.
Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident to reporters.
The incident occurred in the early hours of today, according to the spokesman, and security is doing everything possible to apprehend the suspects.
