Lots of goods and property have been destroyed in a fire incident that occurred at the lounge section of Ibis Royale Hotel, in Ajao Estate, along Murtala Muhammed International Airport Road, Lagos.

A section of the two-storey building was also affected by the inferno which was later contained by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.

The fire reportedly started from an open bar situated on the premises of the hotel at about 4pm on Wednesday.

The cause was attributed to an alleged power surge from the bar.

The Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the state governor, Jubril Gawat, reported that no injury nor death was recorded.
