President Bola Tinubu was in attendance together with other heads of state on Thursday in Bissau, the capital of Guinea-Bissau, to commemorate the country’s 50th Independence Anniversary and Armed Forces Day.

President Tinubu was warmly welcomed by his Guinean counterpart, Umaro Sissoco Embaló. The two leaders were joined by Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa and Gambian President Adama Barrow for the day’s festivities.

Prior to his visit to Guinea-Bissau, President Tinubu spent a week in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he participated in the Saudi-Africa summit.
