The police from the Azikiwe Division, Mile 2 Diobu, in Port Harcourt City Local Council of Rivers State have arrested a man, simply identified as Alabo for allegedly attacking his female tenant with a machete for refusing his love advances.

Alabo had been on the run after the incident on May 15, but was arrested following months of trailing by the police.

The victim, Mrs. Comfort Nwagadi, said the suspect ambushed her after she entered the compound on that fateful day, and dealt her a machete cut on her head and fingers.

The victim, who demanded for justice on the matter, said the landlord attacked her husband who came to her rescue, and gave him several machete cuts before he fled.

According to her, Alabo started targeting her after she turned down his love advances.

The Tracknews Media gathered that two fingers of the victim and that of her husband were no longer functioning as a result of the machete cuts.

Recall that the case file was transferred from the Azikiwe Police Division to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) at the directive of the Commissioner of Police for further investigation.

Meanwhile, spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe Koko, was yet to respond to an enquiry on the incident.
