Police arrest ice cream seller for sodomising 12-year-old boy in Bauchi

Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old man, Sani Musa, for sodomising a 12-year-old boy in Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state.

Spokesperson of the command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, in a statement on Monday, September 12, said the suspect lured the minor, a sachet water hawker into a locked shop at Alkaleri main market and had anal sexual intercourse with him.

“On 06/09/2022 at about 0900hrs detectives attached to Alkaleri Divisional Police Headquarters acted on a report arrested one Sani Musa ‘m’ aged 35yrs, an ice cream seller residing at Bacas area of Bauchi State for having anal sexual intercourse with one Bako (not real name) ‘m’ aged 12yrs-old of Behind Bank Alkaleri,” the PPRO stated

“Preliminary investigation revealed that on 05/09/2022 at about 2100hrs the suspect who is selling ice cream at Alkaleri main market bought a sachet of water from the victim and later saw him walking around the market and lured him to a nearby locked shop and had anal sexual intercourse with him. During interrogation, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime.”

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Sanda, has directed that the case be charged to court.
