The Nigeria Police Force has denounced the unprofessional conduct of officers seen in a viral video collecting ₦5,000 from a Chinese national, calling their actions unethical and unacceptable.

In a statement issued by Force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Police said the officers’ behavior violates the core values and ethics of the Force, stressing that such misconduct erodes public trust.

The officers involved have been identified and are currently facing disciplinary action as part of the Force’s efforts to uphold internal accountability and restore public confidence.

The Police also warned individuals and organizations employing officers for escort or guard duties to avoid actions that could compromise the integrity of the Force or tarnish its image.

Reaffirming its zero-tolerance stance on misconduct, the Police pledged continued commitment to professionalism, discipline, and transparency at all levels.
