Senator Dino Melaye has alleged that one of the suspects arraigned with him in the case of alleged conspiracy and illegal possession of fire arm has died in what he described as questionable circumstances in police custody.

The senator in a tweet on Monday, November 26, said the deceased, Nuhu Salisu also known as Small, and another suspect had told the court that they neither knew him nor had gotten any fire arm from him.

“Nuhu Salisu AKA Small has died in questionable circumstances in police custody. He is one of the 2 suspects arrainged along with me in the case of conspiracy and illegal possession of fire arm. Both suspects have since denied b4 d court knowing me or getting any fire arm from me,”Melaye tweeted.

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives has resolved to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of the principal suspect in the bank robberies and killings in Offa, Kwara state, Michael Adikwu, in custody of the police.

The Nigeria Police Force had said Adikwu was not murdered, but died after he slumped in detention while investigation was ongoing.

The green chamber, however, alleged that the police was manipulating criminal cases, accusing them of human rights abuses and extrajudicial killings.
