Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

Two male and two female members of a syndicate that specialized in seducing victims with romantic advances and taking nude images of them to use as leverage for blackmail have been apprehended by Anambra State police.

According to a statement made by DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, spokesperson for the state Police Command, the group was detained in Umunya, Oyi Local Government Area.

“Preliminary inquiry found that the suspects use social media to entice their unwary male victims into false romantic or platonic relationships,” Ikenga stated.

“They then take the victim to a room where one of them, Obianuju Nduba, has foreplay with the victim while other gang members barge in, capture nude images and films of the victims, and use those to coerce the victims into sending them large sums of money.

They also threaten to post the images and footage of the victims if they don’t comply on social media. They also take the person’s possessions away from him.

The suspects were identified as Okechukwu Oguejiofor (m), 36, Nonso Nwizu (m), 34, Esther Nwafor lfeanyichukwu (f), 21, and Obianuju Nduba (f), 20 by the state police command.

Ikenga stated that following the conclusion of the inquiry, the suspects would be charged in court.
