Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

Eight thieves and burglars with a history of crime in Damaturu and the surrounding area have been found guilty, according to the Yobe State Police Command.

This is a statement that Track News in Damaturu received, according to DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the command’s public relations officer.

He said that once the suspects were arraigned before the Damaturu Magistrate Court on September 1, 2022, the convictions were secured.

The declaration lists the guilty parties as Mohammed Ibrahim, Maman Usman, Abubakar Ya’uba, and Suleiman Yusuf.

Others in the 18 to 30 age range are Mustapha Musa, Modu Killa, and Hassan Adamu.

According to the statement, two of the main suspects—Maman Usman and Hassan Adamu—were given three-year prison terms without the option of a fine, while other defendants received sentences ranging from two to nine months in jail with the possibility of a fine between ten thousand and twenty thousand naira only.

The command, through the PPRO, requested residents of the state to continue helping the police by informing the closest stations of any suspicious activity in and around their neighborhoods, including movements of vehicles and individuals.
