2023: Bayelsa PDP Internal Crisis Deepen As Incumbent Senator Challenge Konbowei Victory In Senatorial Primary

The incumbent senator representing the good people of Bayelsa Central Senatorial District Sen. Moses Cleopas has challenged the victory of the immediate past Secretary to the State Government Rt. Hon Konbowei Friday Benson’s in the just concluded Bayelsa PDP senatorial primary, TrackNews reports.
The incumbent senator drags Hon. Konbowei Friday Benson to federal high court in Yenagoa calling on the court to disqualify Konbowei in the forthcoming senatorial election.
Reliable source revealed some of the reasons why Konbowei should be disqualified. These cut accross; alleged forgery of first school leaving certificate and false informations in PDP expression of interest/nomination form, alleged forgery of NYSC exemption certificate, failure to sign his expression of interest form before a Commissioner for oath to authenticate the information imputed in the PDP expression of interest form, just to mention a few.
Based on the above mentioned allegations, the Incumbent Senator, Moses Cleopas urged the court of law to disqualify Hon. Konbowei Friday Benson on the ground of false informations in accordance with the new electoral act.
