2023: I Won’t Congratulate Sanwo-Olu If He Defeats Me, This Is A Battle & We Will Meet In Court -GRV
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, better known as GRV, is running for governor of Lagos State on the ticket of the Labour Party. However, he has revealed that If he wins the election, he will not congratulate Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC, but rather will sue him to court because the contest is between him and the APC candidate. Following his vote-casting at Ward A 045 Oshifila/Abule Igbira, Anifowoshe in the Ikeja neighborhood of Lagos, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV) revealed this in an interview with Channels Television.
The GRV further asserted that there is voter suppression in the state and that native Lagosians are welcoming and exposing it, but that the APC draws strength from voter suppression by inciting violence and dividing its supporters. He continued by claiming that materials for the voting units have not yet arrived in Alimosho and Iba, which are their strongholds, and that this is a deliberate attempt by the APC to prevent him from winning. He stated that if Sanwo-Olu wins the election, he won’t congratulate him because there have been suppressions in the areas where he is predicted to receive a higher number of votes, and he would challenge his victory in court.
He said, “I won’t congratulate Sanwo-Olu if he defeats me, this is a battle and we will meet in court. We have a situation where in Alimosho, in Iba, polling unit materials have not arrived. You find out that everywhere that we are strong and we show strength polling units have yet to arrive. I am not congratulating someone that got his mandate from intimidation and suppression, if it happens, I will go to court”.
