The Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi, according to Senator Dino Melaye, a former congressman from Kogi, cannot win the 2023 election.

He claimed that while Obi is a gifted Nigerian, the LP candidate is not yet qualified to lead the country.

As reported by TrackNews Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Melaye, the spokeswoman for the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Council, asserted that Obi’s opinion of his chances in the 2023 contest is merely the result of social media noise.

However, the former legislator went on to say that many of the people supporting Obi for president on social media do not follow the account of the former governor of Anambra State, casting doubt on their commitment.

Atiku, the former vice president, is the leader that Nigeria needs, according to Melaye, who expressed confidence that he will win the election.

He declared, “Peter Obi is a fantastic Nigerian.” I have the biggest respect for him, but now is not the time for him. He currently lacks the credentials needed to bring this country together.

Before discussing the economics, you must first achieve peace. Gaining Nigerians’ trust is necessary. Atiku is necessary to bring our nation together. He is the one who could be counted on to unite our nation’s north, south, east, and all other regions. The only candidate for president who is dependable is Atiku Abubakar. He won’t be viewed as an ethnic jingoist, tribalist, or clerical bigot.

How many of the individuals shouting “Peter Obi, Peter Obi” are genuinely Peter Obi’s online fans? The only individuals who follow Peter Obi on social media are those who make up those phony sounds. Visit the Twitter and Instagram pages of Peter Obi. How many people are keeping an eye on him? Peter Obi was in Osun to back the Labour Party candidate. Almost 400,000 votes went to the PDP, while only 2,700 went to the Labour Party. Melaye begged him not to let the excitement overcome him.
