The crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party is worsening on a regular basis, with the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, finding it difficult to reconcile with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
On Friday, Wike accused Atiku of lying in his recent Arise TV interview and promising to reveal all the hidden secrets.

Samuel Ortom, the Governor of Benue State, was one of the PDP leaders who called for reconciliation in the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Ortom stated that if Atiku reaches out to Wike and reconciles with him, several PDP members will be appealed to.

The Benue State Governor, on the other hand, expressed his support for Atiku and charged him with reconciling with Wike in order to move the party forward.

According to a source who spoke with the Track News, there is no schism between Wike and Ortom because the Benue State Governor has openly declared his support for Atiku.

“It is not true that Governor Ortom is at odds with his friend and brother, Governor Wike,” the source said. He has been outspoken in his condemnation of Atiku’s treatment of Wike, and he continues to insist that the two meet to discuss the situation.

“If he says people should think about the party’s interests and make peace, that is not the same as fighting his brother governor.” He is only urging a quick resolution to the problems.”

Another source familiar with the PDP’s reconciliation efforts stated, “Wike is not a small fry in the PDP or politics.” You can’t treat him and his supporters badly and expect him to just accept it. Alhaji Atiku’s statements indicate that there are issues to be addressed, and it is in everyone’s best interests to do so first. Allow everyone to discuss the cards that are on the table.

“Why are they so unwilling to meet Wike and listen to him peacefully?” Why are we so eager to combine people without first asking what they want? We are all aware that Wike and his supporters are critical to the election’s success.

“The party requires unity, but the people also require justice and assurance that the government we intend to form will be a collective one with no witch-hunting.”
