The crisis engulfing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) does not appear to be going away anytime soon, with the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, reportedly planning to move on without resolving his differences with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
The former vice president has been at odds with Rivers State Governor in the run-up to the 2023 general elections.

According to a source familiar with the reported meeting between Governor Wike and the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, Atiku may be forced to move on.

According to a source, former PDP National Chairman Uche Secondus may not want the crisis between Wike and Atiku to be resolved.

“I know Tinubu and Wike’s team went for a meeting outside the country,” the source said. What I do know is that Atiku will campaign without Wike.

According to what I know, Wike will be an albatross if the internal crisis is not resolved. I understand that some leaders are persuading Atiku not to work with Wike, but this is dangerous for the party’s progress.

“If they want the PDP to win in 2023, Ayu must resign, and if he does, the party will benefit.” The PDP crisis would be over if Ayu resigned today, but Ayu has insisted that he will not resign because of his four-year mandate.

“Uche Secondus, for example, will not want the crisis to end, and Austin Opara, who was denied a ticket, will not want the crisis to end.”
