Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

There have been rumors that Atiku Abubakar may identify his campaign committee as the dispute between Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, continues.
Remember that Wike’s delegation was led by former Ondo State governor Olusegun Mimiko, and Atiku had sent a seven-person team, led by Governor Fintiri of Adamawa State, to negotiate.

Over the weekend, the two groups convened in Port-Harcourt for their first meeting.

Track News reported that the party’s candidate may call the governor’s bluff and reveal members of the Presidential Council Committee if the meeting appears to have reached a standstill.

According to a source acquainted with the tense relationship between the two PDP leaders, the two camps have refused to cede ground, which could hinder attempts at reconciliation.

According to the source, Atiku and Wike’s reconciliation meeting is still inactive. Our research suggests that the Atiku camp will disregard Wike and proceed with the announcement of the Presidential Campaign Committee.

The Atiku camp insists that the Wike camp cannot hold them to ransom, therefore once that is accomplished, the Wike camp will also announce their destination. Currently, Ayu’s camp is pressing that she must resign, but the PDP chairman is putting up a fight.

The insider stated that the governors are divided but that they will still hold their meetings. Some people support Atiku, while others support Wike. It implies that they aren’t unified. The issue we have is that Atiku and Wike’s dispute cannot be settled by a third party.

According to an another source, former president Goodluck Jonathan has declined to become involved in the tense situation.

The source claimed: “The former President is powerless because he has chosen to disregard everything going on within the PDP. Jonathan welcomes what Wike is doing to him because he dislikes the Atiku camp (Atiku). Jonathan is from the South and believes that the South needs to gain power.

TAGGED:Atiku's camp may ignore Wike and announce a campaign committeedividing the PDP Governors.
