The State Chairman equally praised the Hon. Commissioner, Works & Infrastructure and his team for doing a good job and completing the beautiful edifice on record time. The Chairman maintained that the Late Madam Igbeta passed on in the line of duty and affirmed that Party would continue to honour the memory of the Late Woman leader.
The State Chairman in his words, said, “this edifice has been put together by our Leader His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, stemming from an appeal by the family that the Late Gloria Igbeta has started a building in Yenagoa which needed to be completed for the use of her children, and that as a compassionate leader, our Governor has kept the promise”.
On his part, the Hon. Commissioner, ESV Hon. Moses Teibowei stressed that the whole building was redesigned and built from scratch, and pointed out that the building being completed has also been moderately furnished with running water provided. He added that approval has been given by the Governor of the state to construct the link road in front of the house to connect it to the ongoing Igbogene-AIT Road under construction.
Responding on behalf of the family, Chief Christian Igbeta, aka Abiola of Ogbia, thanked Sen. Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa state for keeping to his promise and honouring his late sister’s contribution to the PDP. He expressed his amazement at the quality of the house built because it surpassed his earlier expectation, from foundation of the building to finish and also furnishing.
He further assured the delegation that his family and people of Otuasega in Ogbia LGA of the State would rally behind Governor Diri for re-election in November this year.
It would be recalled that Governor Diri had offered automatic employment into the State civil service of two of Late Dame Igbeta’s children and the government assumed care for two others, after she passed away in an auto accident in 2021.
Governor Douye Diri is a good man with the heart of gold.
