Bayelsans don’t take you serious – Group blasts Eradiri, Labour Party Guber candidate
The Network of Bayelsa Professionals (NBP), has taken a swipe on Engr. Udengs Eradiri, the candidate of the Labour Party in the November governorship election in Bayelsa, for attacking Governor Douyle Diri.
The NBP said Bayelsans see Eradiri as a jester who does not understand what it means to be the Chief Executive of a state like Bayelsa.
The group in a statement said rather than convince the people on why they should consider him, Eradiri is busy peddling falsehood against the governor and his Prosperity Administration.
The statement which was signed by the group’s Spokesman, Mr. Deinmobofa Tantua, noted that Eradiri feels that the easiest route to warm his way into the hearts of the people was to dish out one lie after the other against the governor.
The NBP stated that the recent comment by Eradiri that Governor Diri was distributing last minute employment and appointments is the latest attempt of a man whose ambition has hit the rocks.
According to the group, the state government is not time bound on when to engage qualified Bayelsans, especially when there are vacancies, stressing that it is only a mischievous man like Eradiri that will kick against such opportunities for his people.
The NBP stated that the recently launched buses and taxis by the government has led to the engagement of many Bayelsans as drivers and it is unfortunate that Eradiri was kicking against that great opportunity.
The group wondered why Eradiri did not reject his own “last minute appointment” as Commissioner for Youths and later Environment under former Governor Henry Seriake Dickson since the appointment came barely ten months to the 2019 election.
The group maintained that because of his lack of respect and penchant for abusing respected Ijaw leaders, there is no where Eradiri had gone to seek for support that he was not rejected.
On the November 11 governorship election, the NBP said even if Eradiri was the only one in the race, Bayelsans would still not have opted for him because of his antecedents and his woeful performance in the previous public offices he occupied.
“It is clear that Eradiri does not understand what governance is all about despite boasting of a certificate from the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies. His worthless and lame argument on how to tackle some public policy issues confirms this assertion.
“We want to seize this opportunity to advise him to focus on his campaign and stop the unnecessary and incessant attacks on the governor. We are putting this out because it is the right thing to do and feel obligated to do so”.
