Buhari tells Religious Leaders: Step up Prayers for the Peace and Security of the Country
Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
Nigerians, particularly religious leaders, have been urged by President Muhammadu Buhari to pray sincerely for the safety and security of their country.
In a statement released yesterday by his media adviser, Femi Adesina, the president urged all Nigerians, particularly religious leaders, to step up their prayers for the country’s peace and security.
He congratulated Most Rev Oliver Ali Aba, the Archbishop of Benue and Prelate-elect of the Methodist Church of Nigeria.
The 48th/13th Biennial Conference in Abuja, which resulted in the emergence of a new head, was praised by the president as being transparent and peaceful by the country’s leading church.
In addition, Buhari praised the departing prelate, His Eminence Samuel Chukwuemeka Uche, for his contributions to the church’s spiritual and material development during the course of his nine-year term.
The president congratulated Prelate-elect Aba a prosperous stewardship and urged him to build on the honorable legacies of the outgoing Prelate when he takes office on December 1, 2022.
