Citizens are fleeing Nigeria under the APC, but my children refuse to leave – Atiku
Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, has expressed his displeasure with the current administration’s poor governance, which is driving Nigerians abroad.
Atiku stated this during a meeting with South-East PDP stakeholders on Tuesday in Enugu.
During his speech, Atiku stated that he would prioritize human capital development and quality education in order to prepare young people to compete in the modern economy.
“During my tenure as Vice President, you saw Nigerians return from abroad to invest in a variety of opportunities in the country.” Because I witnessed it at my university.
“When I made sure I provided international standards, so many Nigerians from the United States and Europe returned to north east Yola rather than Lagos or Abuja.” They returned. All we have to do is make our country appealing enough for them to return, and they will,” he said.
“The trend has since reversed under the APC.” People are desperate to flee Nigeria. You all have relatives or children who have fled to the United States or Canada. I’ve got my own. I have refused anyone of them to go to abroad and reside because I don’t believe it. We have to stay in this country.”
