The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP presidential election, Atiku Abubakar has hired a legal team comparing 19 Senior Advocates of Nigeria to challenge the outcome of the February 25 election.

Recall that Atiku and Peter Obi of the Labour Party had rejected the results of the presidential elections alleging that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC rigged the poll in favour of its candidate, Bola Tinubu.

The two aggrieved parties and their candidates had gone to court to seek redress.

Briefing newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, Atiku said about 19 SANs are already on ground to take up the case, asking them to “establish the claim of illegality in the election and reclaim the mandate of the Nigerian people.”

The legal team is headed by a seasoned litigation and commercial lawyer, JK Gadzama.

The former vice president declared that it is crucial to go through this process not just for himself and the PDP but also to reinforce constitutional democracy and safeguard it for future generations.

The list of SANs include Chris Uche, Paul Usoro, Tayo Jegede, Ken Mozia, Mahmood Magaji, Mike Ozekhome, Joe Abraham, Garba Tetengi Chukwuma Umeh and Emeka Etiaba.

Others include Goddy Uche, Professor Maxwell Gidado; PDP’s National Legal Adviser A.K. Ajibade; O.M. Atoyebi; Nella Rabana; Paul Ogbole; Nuremi Jimoh and Abdul Ibrahim.

Recall that the president-elect, Tinubu had also employed 12 SANs to defend his mandate
