Enugu Labour Party awaits directive from Abuja – Chairman
Adeleye Kunle
Casmir Agbo, chairman of the Labour Party (LP) in Enugu State, has revealed that the party is awaiting instructions from its headquarters before holding a new gubernatorial primary.
Agbo stated this in a phone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria Track News in Enugu on Monday.
Recall that an Abuja Federal High Court ordered a new Enugu State gubernatorial primary. This followed Mr Everest Nnaji’s suit challenging Mr Chijioke Edeoga’s election as the LP candidate.
“We’re waiting for instructions from our national office to conduct a new primary as the Court has ordered,” he said.
Lawyer Agbo stated that the party’s legal team is reviewing the judgment and that “as soon as we receive the directive, we will move on.”
He urged Labour Party supporters in the state to stay focused and calm as the party prepares to take the state in the upcoming 2023 election.
