Ex-lawmaker, 300 APC members decamp to PDP in Ebonyi
ABAKALIKI—NO fewer than 300 members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, led by a former House of Assembly member, Bede Nwali, yesterday decamped to the Peoples Democratic party, PDP, in the state.
He equally confessed that they have been in Egypt (APC) for some years but decided to join the PDP following the enormous impact of the PDP-led government in the lives of Ebonyi people in less than three years of coming into power.
Receiving the decampees, the State chairman of PDP, Barr.Onyekachi Nwebonyi thanked them for taking bold steps to join the PDP in the State.
He urged the decampees to feel free and associate with other PDP members as the party was noted for love, oneness and the principle of internal democracy.
“The PDP family is impressed with the number of people that decamped today and this reveals that three APC governors will equally decamp to PDP by next week.”
Dignitaries that attended the event included the chairman of Ebonyi local government area, Hon. Mrs Chinyere Nwogbaga ;the special assistant to Ebonyi state governor on Higher Education, Prof.Mrs Adaeze Nwuzor ;the chairman of Afikpo North local government, Hon.Eni Uduma Chima; the commissioner for Education, Chief Sabinus Nwankwoegu, among others.
Membership cards were issued to all decampees while adoption for the re-election of Governor David Umahi come 2019 took the centre stage.
