Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri today, witnessed activities marking the closing of a youth leadership and entrepreneurship programme organized by the Prosperity Youth Coalition, headed by Comrade Doubara Kumokou.
The training programme which took place at the DSP Alamieyeseigha memorial Banquet Hall for three days, had in attendance, youths drawn from the 105 Wards of the state.
Governor Diri in his remarks, thanked leadership coach, Mr. Linus Okorie for coming to Bayelsa State to impart on the youths.
While urging Bayelsa youths to make use of this opportunity and contribute to the development of the state, the governor thanked Bayelsa youths for towing the path of hard work, in order to make life meaningful for themselves.
“For me, there can be nothing as heartwarming as today, seeing our youth leaders in the classroom, seeking for knowledge. I believe that we are all keying in to the prosperity mantra.
I want to thank my brother and friend, Linus Okorie and his team for coming to Bayelsa to impart knowledge on our youths.

I also want to thank the Director-General of the Prosperity Youth Coalition, Comrade Doubara Kumokou and other youth leaders who have made this training possible. Let me use this opportunity to thank the Youths of Bayelsa, for showing Nigeria and the rest of the world, who Bayelsa youths are, and not what they think about us.
I implore all of us here to be handy with what we have learnt here. I’m sure some of us are graduates, and even Masters Degree holders, but when you have a practical class like this, and you come out, you’ll value it even more. The moment we engage our youths meaningfully and they become productive, Bayelsa will change for the better.
I know that Bayelsa Youths will be better youths tomorrow, I urge you to continue in this trajectory, and touch the lives of others positively,” Governor Diri stated.
