Hon. Fred Obua Bags Ogbia Traditional Title

Rt Hon Azibapu Fred Obua, immediate past Member of the House of Representatives, who represented the Ogbia Federal Constituency, has been conferred with an Emeyal 11-Ogbia traditional title, ‘ Chief Otukpa Emeyal 11’ (the lead Light of Emeyal Two-Ogbia) in Emeyal Two Community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

In his response, Rt Hon Azibapu Fred Obua, described the conferment of the traditional title on him as a ‘handshake for impressive service and performance’.

The Emeyal 11 – born Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors and former Commissioner of Special projects, who was flanked by his Wife, Mrs Slender Obua, thanked all and sundry for the honour, reiterating his commitment to continue to be of immense service to humanity and Society.

The Paramount ruler of Emeyal 11 Community, HRH Jacob Igbigi, while conferring the title on Rt Hon Azibapu Fred Obua with a symbolic presentation of a well-crafted insignia of title at the City Square, said that the honour was in appreciation of Rt Hon Azibapu Fred Obua’s worthy contributions and kind gestures toward Emeyal and Ogbia people.

It is note worthy that Rt Hon Azibapu Fred Obua has continued to receive accolades from far and near over his unparallel and unprecedented achievements as Member of the 9th House of Representatives, as evidenced in his sponsorship of People-oriented Bills and Motions, facilitation of projects and programmes including but not limited to Emeyal Can Youths Secretariat, Classrooms’ Blocks with ICT Centre, Roads’ infrastructure, Sports Spectators’ Pavillions, Provision Solar-powered Street lights and portable Water, Distribution of educational and Entrepreneurship empowerment materials as well as unalloyed loyalty and support to Gov. Diri’s prosperity Government.

Hon Chief Gabriel Ogbara, Chief Whip of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly; Mr. Collins Igrubia, Managing Director of Arietalin Normariyor Nig. Ltd, amongst others, also bagged traditional honours in the event which was carnival-like.
