In Ondo, a group of 5000 women canvass for Tinubu.
The Rontex for BAT election campaign, which supports Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has mobilized over 5000 women in Ondo State to serve as vote canvassers ahead of next year’s general election.
The group’s mission is to ensure that the message of power transition reaches the grassroots.
Mrs.Saratu Funke Adelakun, Rontex’s BAT State Coordinator,
The year 2023 has been designated as the year of the Southwest’s power transition.
Adelakun urged the coordinators to ensure that voter identification cards were distributed to all registered voters in their area. She stated that in order to shift power and ensure good governance, canvassers must educate voters about the importance of voting.
“This is the time to open people’s eyes to President Muhammadu Buhari’s APC-led administration’s good work,” she says. “We have to go out there and ensure Tinubu’s victory,” we have to say. “We must not take the voters for granted; our goal is to receive 90% of Ondo State’s votes.”
Dr. Ronke Kolade Carew, BAT’s National Chairman and Convener for RONTEX, urged the canvassers to be courteous in their work.
The emphasis, according to Dr. Carew, was on issue-based campaigns rather than character assassination.
