Former Nigerian minister of Ation, Osita Chidoka in an interview with Arise , said that the outgoing president, Muhammadu Buhari is leaving behind a country that is not in good shape.

During the interview, the PDP chieftain argued that Nigerians no longer have any trust in government institutions. Osita Chidoka noted that before now, Nigerians have so much faith in the government institutions including the judiciary. He said it was in this country that Peter Obi went to court to challenge his impeachment and was returned back to office as governor of Anambra state by the Court.

Speaking further, Osita Chidoka disclosed that Nigerians no longer have faith in the police and the security agencies. He said when people are kidnapped, instead of calling the police, relatives of the kidnaped victims prefer to negotiate with the kidnappers.

Osita Chidoka said “He (Buhari) is leaving behind a broken country, he is leaving behind a country where the respect for human lives is at its lowest, where the ability for people to feed is now a luxury. He is leaving behind a country where the people of the country have no trust in any of our national institutions. It was in this country Peter Obi went to court about his impeachment, and the Court removed the new governor and he was reinstalled back into office.

“This is the country where all institutions of government were alive and well. He (Buhari) is leaving behind a country where everybody is comatose, where nobody trusts any institutions. When people are kidnapped, they don’t even call the police anymore, they don’t bother calling any security agency, people negotiate for their lives.”
