NDLEA States Reason Why They Can’t Arrest Tinubu, Says PDP Are Looking For Ways To Remove Him

According to a news published by Vanguard paper, The People’s Democratic Party and its leader Dino Melaye filed a petition asking for a warrant to arrest and prosecute Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president-elect and presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, over the alleged forfeiture of some funds. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, or NDLEA, has filed a preliminary objection to the petition.

The People’s Democratic Party was the first applicant, and the party chieftain, Dino Melaye, was the second. In a preliminary objection signed and filed at the Federal High Court sitting in the nation’s capital, Abuja, on Wednesday, 26th, Joseph Nbona Sunday, Director of Prosecution and Legal Services to the NDLEA, argues that the suit filed was incompetent and the court lacks the jurisdiction to entertain it and as sue, should be dismissed.

The NDLEA, however, stated that the investigation and prosecution of the president-elect were only meant to remove him as a legitimate candidate in the recently held presidential election and that neither the PDP nor Dino Melaye have a locus standi or an interest peculiar to them.
