The All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in Osun State yesterday accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of attempting to tamper with the contents of the electoral results and other documents in order to prevent justice from being served at the tribunal.

In a statement, the Chairman of the APC in Osun, Prince Gboyega Famodun, claimed that the party had received information about the activities of certain individuals in the INEC and PDP state offices, attempting to compromise the contents of the electoral results of Forms EC8A and EC8B in relation to the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) reports, which contain the records of the actual number of persons accredited to vote in each polling unit.

“Having read the petition filed by our candidate, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, and our party, APC, PDP, and their collaborators in the INEC, Osogbo office, have gone into panic mode and have been attempting to manipulate the electoral results and other documents,” he said.

“We were able to establish over-voting in 749 polling units across 10 local government areas of Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, Ejigbo, Ila, Ilesha West, Irepodun, Obokun, Olorunda, and Osogbo,” said Amosun.

“We have learned from a reliable source that INEC officials in Osogbo, working for the PDP and its candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, have begun an urgent process of manipulating the contents of the BVAS report in order to overcome the unassailable allegations and evidence at our disposal.”

Diran Odeyemi, Adeleke’s former deputy national publicity secretary and media aide, slammed the APC over the allegation.

“The APC will always accuse other parties, particularly the PDP, of what they are capable of doing,” he said. The case is in front of a competent court; APC should wait for their waterloo.”
