The candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) for Adamawa Central senatorial zone in the 2023 election, Alhaji Hamman Ahmadu has left the party for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

It is a return home for Hamman Ahmadu, better known as Dan Maje after his Dan Maje Adamawa traditional title. He was previously in APC before leaving to pursue his senatorial ambition in NNPP.

Ahmadu told newsmen on Friday that he decided to leave NNPP because of sundry issues arising from the last presidential and National Assembly elections.

Ahmadu, presenting his new APC membership card to newsmen, said he was committed to his future political journey in the APC.

“I returned to my house. I left because many people were fighting me but now I come back never to leave again because I have discovered that this is where God wants me to serve Adamawa State and my people,” he said.

Track news reports that Dan Maje had come third (on the platform of NNPP) in the last Adamawa Central Senatorial Zone election which was won by the Speaker of the state and candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the election, Aminu Iya Abbas, who polled 245,880 votes.
